Randy burns, founder

Randy founded Buffalo Point Partners after nearly a decade of private equity and investment banking experience. He leads all aspects of the firm's activities.

Randy’s formative private equity experience - and the inspiration for his current search for a business to acquire and build - was in the operator-founded, -funded, and -led environment of Highlander Partners in Dallas.

Randy’s experience spans all aspects of the private equity investing process. He has built out sourcing capabilities, evaluated new platform investments, executed transactions and refinancings, led add-on acquisition efforts, and worked with portfolio companies on strategic and operational initiatives. He has worked with twenty portfolio companies across a range of business services, healthcare, and light manufacturing end markets in North America and Central Europe.

Randy began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Stephens Inc., his hometown investment bank, where he focused on the building products and construction, chemicals, and transportation and logistics sectors. He earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas. He firmly believes the great state of Arkansas is America’s best kept secret (and hopes it stays that way!).
