Buffalo Point Partners was formed to acquire and operate lower middle market businesses. We offer a flexible, entrepreneurial, and long-term oriented alternative to the typical exit options of selling to a competitor or traditional private equity. Our goal is to carry forward and build upon the legacy of any business we acquire.
We target opportunities where what we bring to bear can positively impact the outcome. We can step into a day-to-day management role if needed. We will work hands on for as long as we can be productive and useful in doing so.
We seek to partner with strong supporting management teams to develop and execute on shared visions for long-term value creation. We will ensure the availability of the capital, strategic, and operational resources necessary to pursue our shared goals.
In addition to control buyouts, we make minority equity investments of up to $5 million in businesses acquired by independent sponsors or search funds in partnership with Yellowstone Capital Partners, LLC. We will also consider co-invest opportunities with private equity funds.

$2-10+ million of free cash flow (or EBITDA)
Recurring demand
Exposure to growth tailwinds
Low capital intensity
Recognizable brand in the market served
High return on tangible capital
We are especially interested in opportunities where flexible, permanent capital and a long-term focus are advantaged over traditional private equity.
For minority equity or co-invest opportunities, we can invest in US-based businesses of any size and favor situations where the lead sponsor has relevant domain expertise.
We avoid project-based businesses and highly cyclical industries. We shy away from industries dominated by highly specialized investors, such as healthcare, unless we are partnering with a specialist. We prefer businesses who have earned, rather than bought, their customers.

who we are
Buffalo Point Partners was founded by Randy Burns after nearly a decade in private equity and investment banking. The firm is supported by successful entrepreneurs and investors who provide mentorship as well as capital. Randy will take a day-to-day leadership role with an acquired company if needed.
Yellowstone Capital Partners, LLC is a family-backed investment firm with a history of leading control buyouts and making minority equity investments in deals led by others. It was founded in 1993 in Houston, TX and is under its second generation of family leadership.
